At My Desk

Here I am at my animation desk from when Startoons was at 18147 Harwood Ave. in Homewood - sometime in the late '90s. Like most workspaces, it's a bit messy, and overrun with toys. Some of my favorites here are Banana Splits figures that I picked up on a family trip to King's Island amusement park in 1982. You can see a hint of them in the top right corner on the shelf. You can see on my desk that I'm working on a scene with Englishman from "Kitchen Sink Gang". There's a great turnaround for Spaceman up on my board.

There is actually a picture of Jafar Mohad at the bottom right of the frame. I think you kept that picture in your office because he was wearing a T-shirt featuring one of the characters from Little Dogs that YOU designed (Lumpy).
We should invite Jafar and all the other Indian animators from Heart to this blog! I bet they have some stories too... in fact I KNOW they do.

Ah,..the old desks. I'll have to dig up pics of mine. Dave and i were right next to each other. We devised a tube in between the small spaces inbetween the desks so we could shoot cd's and snacks back and forth. Good times.

It IS a little messier than I remember it, Dave. Toward the end I think you had all the Star Wars stuff organized by some kind of Dewey Decimal System.

I just got more and more crowded in as I kept buying up toys. My desk is no different at WMS. If the guy who's cube is conneced to mine shifts his desk too hard - there is always an avalance. I can actually get hurt! Later, I'll post a Ridge road shot where my Star Wars collection was just getting started.
